I'm the Food and Dining editor of The Washington Post, where I write the Weeknight Vegetarian column.
My books include the upcoming "Mastering the Art of Plant-Based Cooking," the best-selling "Cool Beans," and "America The Great Cookbook," “Eat Your Vegetables” and “Serve Yourself."
I am the proud queer grandson of Assyrian refugees and member of the Arab and Middle Eastern Journalists Association. I live with my husband, teenage son, dog and cat in Washington, D.C.
